Get in Touch

Clay County Released Inmates is a private reference resource, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release a person, post bond, change a record, or pull an official booking file. Contact the agency that created or holds the record for those services.

Reach the Right Clay Office

Start with the office responsible for the custody event, court case, or supervision status. Calling before a visit is wise because the research did not establish separate walk-in counter hours for the courts. The sheriff's published administrative hours do not limit the times when the detention center may process a release.

Clay County Sheriff and Detention Center

330 West Broad Street
PO Box 142
West Point, MS 39773

Phone: 662-494-2896
Fax: 662-494-4034
Email: info@claysheriffms.org
Administrative hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Use this office for the Clay County Detention Center roster, recent release timestamp, booking sheet, photograph, jail-docket entry, and a request for the documented manner of release or transfer.

Clay County Circuit Clerk

365 Court Street
PO Box 815
West Point, MS 39773

Phone: 662-494-3124
Fax: 662-492-4059

Use the Circuit Clerk for felony filings, indictments, bonds, judgments, sentences, and court orders. A final court record may explain an outcome that the jail's short release card does not show.

Clay County Justice Court

PO Box 674
West Point, MS 39773

Phone: 662-494-6140
Fax: 662-494-6141

Use Justice Court for applicable county misdemeanor and initial-proceeding records. A West Point municipal case may instead require the municipal clerk even when the person was housed at the county detention center.

Clay Probation and Parole Office

7299 Highway 45 Alternate North
PO Box 265
West Point, MS 39773

Phone: 662-494-1713
Fax: 662-494-1138

This MDOC Community Corrections office routes questions about public state supervision assignments. It is not the source for county booking records, and it does not publish a person-by-person lookup.

Choose the path that fits the record needed:

  • For a named person who left Clay County custody or for a release record, begin with the Clay County released inmate search and records path.
  • For parole, probation, post-release supervision, or Earned Release Supervision, use the Clay County parole and probation information and the local MDOC office above.
  • For people recorded as recently released, check the 24-Hour Release List, which applies timestamps from the sheriff's official 48-hour feed.
  • For an expected date, use Projected Release Date. For a specific custody status or alert, use the VINELink Check. MS SAVIN/VINE help is available at 601-359-5759 during business hours, 1-888-967-7284 through the help line, or 866-847-1298 by TTY.
  • For the local jail itself, use the Clay County Detention Center page and the sheriff contact card above.
  • For a Mississippi state-sentence record, search the MDOC inmate search by exact name or MDOC ID. Direct release-computation questions through MDOC personnel or the person's case manager, not the county court or jail.
  • For a federal sentence, use the BOP Inmate Locator. Federal pretrial custody belongs with the hosting jail, federal court, or U.S. Marshals Service. For immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. Each result describes that agency's custody only.
