Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Clay County Released Inmates receives when someone browses, searches, or sends a message. It also explains why that information is used, which outside services may receive it, and the choices available to visitors. The practices apply to visits involving Clay County release resources as well as links to Mississippi correctional and court sources. By continuing to use the site, you accept the data practices stated here. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Clay County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider processes the request under its privacy terms, which may differ from this notice.

Messages Sent to Us

If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details you provide so we can respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, a valid court order, or another binding legal process.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Routine server, security, and analytics systems may receive technical details each time a page loads. This information helps the site operate and provides a broad view of traffic. It can include:

  • The internet protocol address used for the visit
  • The browser name and version
  • The device category and operating system
  • The pages opened and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when one is supplied
  • The date and time of each request

Cookie Choices

Cookies and similar browser storage can help measure how visitors move through Clay County release-record pages and which features work well. You may block or remove cookies through your browser settings. Some tools, preferences, advertising functions, or page features may behave differently when cookies are disabled.

Reasons We Use Data

The information described above is used for limited operational purposes, including:

  • Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive
  • Sending a search request to the appropriate partner service
  • Learning which Clay County resources visitors find useful
  • Detecting faults, misuse, and other technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

Privacy Beyond Our Pages

Clay County Released Inmates links to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, courts, the Mississippi Department of Corrections, parole and probation resources, federal or immigration agencies, and outside search tools. Once you follow one of those links, the destination’s privacy policy and data practices apply. Mississippi government records may also be governed by the Mississippi Public Records Act, §§ 25-61-1 through 25-61-17, but that law does not replace the destination’s website privacy notice.

Some advertising partners use their own technology to measure activity across multiple websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner’s systems, not through records kept by Clay County Released Inmates. Review the partner’s controls if you want to limit that activity.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may still pass to a limited group when needed to operate the site or comply with the law:

  • Search partners that process the query a visitor submits
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance
  • Advertising networks that deliver and evaluate ads
  • Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Safeguard Information

Reasonable, commonly used administrative and technical practices help protect information in our control. No internet connection, storage system, or security method is fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure will never occur.

Visitors Younger Than Eighteen

Clay County Released Inmates is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the type of information involved, you may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete personal information we control
  • Stop or limit certain forms of processing

These choices apply to information controlled by Clay County Released Inmates. Requests concerning a sheriff, court, MDOC, search partner, analytics service, or advertising network must be directed to that organization.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this Privacy Notice as practices, services, or legal requirements change. The updated wording will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication means the revised notice applies to later activity.
